In the summer of 2025, Elevator Arts launched Excav8, an innovative project engaging home-educated young people in exploring the intersections of history, technology, and creativity. Led by artist Laura Trevail with support from Jay Durkin, participants embarked on a journey through museums, archives, and cultural spaces, investigating artefacts, conservation efforts, and themes of identity and self-expression
Using technology, the young people created their own artistic responses to the collections and the knowledge they gained, blending digital skills with imaginative storytelling. The project culminated in a vibrant exhibition showcasing their creativity, curiosity, and unique perspectives on the past, present, and future.
